Project Legacy Launcher

Everything you need to begin playing Project Legacy is handled by one launcher. If you do not already have a compatible client, the launcher will download and install the complete game for you, configure it for Project Legacy, apply every required patch, and keep it updated.

Setup Steps

  1. Download and install the Project Legacy launcher from this page.
  2. Open the launcher and sign in with your verified Project Legacy account. New players can create and verify an account directly through the launcher.
  3. If you do not already have a compatible game client, choose where you want Project Legacy installed and select Install Game. The download is approximately 5 GB and requires approximately 12 GB of free space.
  4. If you already have a working World of Warcraft 1.12.1 installation, you can select that folder instead and skip the full client download.
  5. The launcher will configure the client, install the custom executable, set the realmlist, clear outdated cache data, and download or repair all required Project Legacy patch files.
  6. Once the launcher displays Ready to play, select Play.
Manual Download (Advanced)
Using the launcher is strongly recommended. The launcher can now install the complete game client and is the supported installation method for new players. Manual installation requires an existing clean World of Warcraft 1.12.1 client and does not automatically verify or update your files. Missing or outdated files can cause errors, crashes, incorrect game data, or prevent you from connecting.

Required Files

Download every file below and place it in the correct location inside a clean World of Warcraft 1.12.1 client.

WoW-modified.exe Place in the main World of Warcraft folder. patch.mpq Place in the Data folder. patch-D.mpq Place in the Data folder. Patch-M.mpq Place in the Data folder. patch-P.mpq Place in the Data folder.

Realmlist

Open realmlist.wtf in your main World of Warcraft folder and replace its contents with:

set realmlist play.projectlegacy.pro

Manual Installation Steps

  1. Start with a clean World of Warcraft Vanilla 1.12.1 client.
  2. Download WoW-modified.exe and place it in the main World of Warcraft folder beside WoW.exe.
  3. Download patch.mpq, patch-D.mpq, Patch-M.mpq, and patch-P.mpq, then place them inside the client's Data folder.
  4. Edit realmlist.wtf so it contains only set realmlist play.projectlegacy.pro.
  5. Launch the game using WoW-modified.exe, not the original WoW.exe.
  6. Whenever Project Legacy is updated, return to this page and replace all updated files before launching the game.
