Independent Vision
Project Legacy is built around original systems rather than inherited designs. Prestige Mode, Lorewalker Mode and our approach to long-term progression were created specifically for this server.
An independent Vanilla+ project
Project Legacy is an independently developed Vanilla server, built around its own vision rather than continuing or copying another Classic+ project.
Project Legacy is built around keeping one permanent world worth returning to. Its original progression systems give your main character new long-term goals, while targeted class changes, additional quests and updated endgame encounters expand patch 1.12 without replacing the game you already know.
Why Project Legacy
Project Legacy is not a continuation of a discontinued server and it is not built by copying another project's direction. Its defining systems were created specifically for this server, with the goal of keeping the original world active and giving players meaningful progression on the characters they intend to keep.
Project Legacy is built around original systems rather than inherited designs. Prestige Mode, Lorewalker Mode and our approach to long-term progression were created specifically for this server.
New systems must still feel at home in patch 1.12. We expand Vanilla through familiar world content, class identity and long-term character goals rather than importing later-expansion design wholesale.
Your main character is meant to matter for years, not for one season. Progress is permanent, prestige adds new goals without deleting your history, and future updates are built for the same persistent world.
What makes us different
Our systems are designed to solve one of Vanilla's biggest long-term problems: once characters finish levelling and exhaust the current endgame, large parts of Azeroth stop mattering. Project Legacy creates reasons to level again, revisit old zones and continue progressing on the same permanent account.
A first-of-its-kind Vanilla+ progression system. At level 60, reset to level 1 while keeping your character, equipment, gold, riding and major unlocks, then earn permanent cosmetic rewards across multiple prestige ranks.
Opt into a slower, world-focused levelling journey with reduced creature experience, milestone rewards every ten levels and a permanent mark showing that the character completed the challenge.
Retribution, Protection, Survival, Shadow, Elemental and Balance receive specific new tools or talent updates aimed at making weak playstyles viable without flattening Vanilla class identity.
Endgame raids are built for 25 players, raid world buffs are removed on entry, the boss debuff limit is gone and selected encounters receive additional mechanics without becoming modern-style fights.
Alliance and Horde players can group, guild, raid, trade and communicate together, making a smaller community feel like one living server instead of two populations divided by faction.
More than 150 lore-friendly quests have been added to underused zones and awkward level ranges, creating fuller routes while sending players back into the original world rather than around it.
An original level-60 world boss in Darkwhisper Gorge with custom mechanics and eleven unique bind-on-equip rewards, giving organised groups another reason to venture into the open world.
Unlock two permanent talent builds at level 40 and switch between them at your class trainer, reducing friction without turning specialization changes into an anywhere, anytime modern convenience.
Our design philosophy
We do not want to turn Vanilla into a different game. The goal is to make its world last longer: strengthen unfinished specializations, create new reasons to revisit old zones and let one permanent character continue gaining goals long after reaching level 60.
Class changes should give weak specializations a clearer purpose without making every class play the same way.
We prefer targeted adjustments over enormous redesigns and are willing to revisit changes when live results show that something is not working.
Progress should accumulate on the character you care about. Prestige, permanent rewards and persistent account goals are designed to extend your journey rather than replace it with a fresh seasonal reset.
Community feedback helps shape the project, but every decision still has to fit the server's identity and long-term health.
Join a persistent Vanilla+ world built around original systems, meaningful progression for your main character and reasons to keep all of Azeroth relevant.
